WRFS Achieves QRTP Designation

White’s Residential and Family Services is thrilled to announce that we have been designated a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) by the Indiana Department of Child Services! WRFS is at the forefront of the designation of programs across the state.

Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) was passed in 2018 to ensure foster care services, including WRFS’s residential programs, that receive federal government funds meet a certain set of qualifications. One of these qualifications was following a trauma-informed model, which is one of the main reasons WRFS began implementing the Teaching Family Model. Another qualification is being accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. WRFS is already accredited by the Council on Accreditation, but we are also working towards being accredited by the Teaching-Family Association. The process also involved meeting with licensing consultants monthly to revise policies and program descriptions. Other criteria included on-site nursing, on-site clinical staff, family involvement, and 6-month aftercare support. Overall, this designation is essential to WRFS getting the referrals that place teens in our programs.

“I think the really big take-away from it is that at the heart of all this is making sure the kids are receiving trauma-informed care,” said Lisa Adams, Placement Relationship Manager.

WRFS is honored to be a designated QRTP in the state of Indiana, and we are excited for the ways our programs will continue to develop as a result of meeting this criteria!
